Hello! I’m Andrey Stanev, and I’m excited to share my passion for dance with you.
At Ballroom Dance in NYC , I specialize in crafting unique wedding dance choreographies that reflect the individuality of each couple. My mission is to create a welcoming and stress-free environment for dance lessons, catering to individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. My journey in dance began in Bulgaria, where I discovered my passion at a young age. I became the Bulgarian National Champion in Ballroom and Latin Dance in 2000-2001, an achievement that ignited my ambition to pursue dance professionally.After graduating from the National Sport Academy, I took a leap of faith and moved to the United States to broaden my horizons. My journey led me to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Bedford Hills, New York. There, I refined my skills in both International and American styles of dance and earned recognition as a top teacher, receiving the Award for Outstanding Performance in the advanced teaching department.In 2006, I founded ASDANCECONNECTION in Thornwood, NY, and Ballroom Dance in NYC – Manhattan, where I offer private lessons to individuals, couples, and competitive dancers. My teaching philosophy centers on making learning enjoyable and stress-free. I believe that dance should be a source of joy and self-expression.
In my lessons, I emphasize a fun and relaxed atmosphere. With a blend of humor and innovative techniques, I help students feel comfortable and confident. Each session begins with clear instructions on basic steps, progressing to turns and combinations of varying complexity.I kick off every lesson by demonstrating the move or a full combination of up to twelve elements. Together, we break it down into manageable parts. Students practice each move slowly before dancing to the rhythm of the music. This method not only simplifies mastering the dances but also ensures that my students have a blast while doing it!
